Hotel Presidente

Villa Lapas

Villa Lapas is bordering the Carara National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Costa Rica, which protects one of the few remaining populations of scarlet macaws in the country and the Tárcoles River, home to many crocodiles that can be easily seen from the river bridge. It is just minutes from the best beaches in the Pacific Coast, Jaco, Herradura, Playa Hermosa and the wonderful beach of Manuel Antonio. Within the hotel is St. Lucia Villa Lapas, a small replica of the historical past of Costa Rica with a church, a lake, restaurant, 2 souvenir shops, a bar and other attractions.

Poás Volcano, Doka and La Paz Waterfall Gardens

The first location is Doka Estate, where the tour starts in the beautiful coffee plantations, passing through the benefit, to learn the whole process of our golden bean. Then we go to the Poás Volcano National Park, the impressive active volcano is one of the largest craters in the world (1.5 kilometers/0.94 miles across). We continue our trip to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, there we will have a delicious lunch. Arriving in La Paz, we take a beautiful trail hike to the spectacular waterfall in the rainforest. Inside the park, we also visit the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the Hummingbird Gallery, the serpentarium, bird house and a frog garden.

Carara National Park Walking Tour

Enjoy a relaxing hike through a tropical rainforest with highly qualified and well educated bilingual naturalist guides. Your experience in the Carara National Park, will be unforgettable and you will probably notice giant macaws and extraordinary crocodiles lying under the Tárcoles River Bridge.

Manuel Antonio National Park

Enjoy visiting one of the most famous national parks of Costa Rica. Take a leisurely stroll with a highly qualified and knowledgeable naturalist guide who will point out interesting facts about the tropical rainforest and its biodiversity. You will have the possibility to see animals like sloths, several species of monkeys, ant eaters, several types of non-poisonous snakes and different species of birds.

Catamaran Sunset Tour

Enjoy the beautiful views and sunsets from the coast of Manuel Antonio on the Pacific Coast. Aboard the Catamaran you can taste a variety of excellent natural snacks and beverages for your enjoyment while enjoying the breeze and the sun in this tropical paradise.

Whale and dolphin watching tour

You will travel with an experienced team in the ocean to an area where whales and dolphins in general, can be observed. The best time to see whales is between July and late October and late November to late April, it is also possible to see dolphins.

In some cases, you will see five different whales species, including humpback and pilot whales. If whales are willing to jump out the water, you will have a unique opportunity in life and you will see how these animals sing to each other to communicate.

Day 1

(L) Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in San José. A welcome lunch is included in the program. Lodging at Hotel Presidente or similar

Day 2

(B, L) Departure through dairy farms and flower plantations to visit the beautiful highland coffee plantations at Doka. Continuation to Poás Volcano, the largest geyser in the World and then La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Here you will enjoy the five waterfalls, the butterfly paradise and the humming birds garden. Once you have finished your walk you will take a delicious buffet lunch and then begin the return trip to San José. Lodging at Hotel Presidente or similar

Day 3

(B) After a hearty breakfast, you will take a transfer from San José to the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Lunch at the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Lodging at Villa Lapas or similar.

Day 4

(B) Transfer to Tárcoles. Today you will have a guided tour to the Carara National Park, with an area of 11.615 acres (4.700 hectares) in a climatic transitional zone between the dry North Pacific and the humid South Coast. You will possibly spot coatis, white-faced monkeys, flycatchers, toucans, partridges, parrots, among others. Giant trees will care for pleasing shadow. Lodging at Villa Lapas or similar

Day 5

(B) Transfer along the Central Pacific coast to Manuel Antonio National Park which boasts an extraordinary combination of stunning white sandy beaches fringed by densely forested green hills. Lodging at Arenas del Mar (Garden superior room) or similar

Day 6

(B) Breakfast. Enjoy the warm waters of the Pacific, the beautiful beaches and the exotic nature of the forest of Manuel Antonio National Park. Lodging at Arenas del Mar (Garden superior room) or similar

Day 7

(B) Morning at leisure to enjoy the beach. Today you will take the Catamaran sunset tour, a truly incredible trip for nature lovers who will enjoy not only the experience itself but the spectacular sunset of the Pacific Ocean. Day 8

(B) After breakfast, continue south to Dominical which is one of the country’s most beautiful hidden gem. Afternoon at leisure, simply relax or explore the area with your guide. Lodging at Cristal Ballena Hotel Resort & Spa (Jr. Suite) or similar

Day 9

(B, D) In the morning you will board a comfortable boat and cruise downstream through lush mangroves, watching plentiful wildlife along the bank. Set out in search of 5 different species of dolphins. You will probably see whales or sea turtles. Snack and natural beverages will be served on board. Farewell Dinner. Lodging at Cristal Ballena Hotel Resort & Spa (Jr. Suite) or similar

Day 10

(B) After breakfast, transportation from Dominical to the Juan Santamaría International Airport for your return flight.
