Terms and conditions

  • All rates are given in USD dollars.
  • Prices per package per person, including all indicated meals, activities (tours), transportation and Private English-Spanish speaking guide throughout the stay. Optionally, you may choose to hire a nurse service throughout the trip, or travel in a medical transport unit if required (for an additional cost, not included in our package prices).
  • Prices are subject to change without previous notice and are also subject to availability at the moment of booking.
  • The rates given above are public and include state taxes (13%) which are subject to changes by the government of Costa Rica (In case of any variation done by the Government related to these taxes, Senior Travel Costa Rica will notify the customer and will adjust and reflect the variations).
  • Individual outputs (FIT's) are considered from 2 to 14 people.
  • A GROUP is considered so, from 15 persons or more.
  • Please always remember to carry the voucher regarding the terrestrial services issued by Senior Travel Costa Rica, because we do not take responsibility for any inconvenience at the moment of receiving the services, in case you have forgotten it.   • Please check that your name and nationality is the same as it appears on your passport.
  • It is an explicit responsibility of the passenger to make sure that he/she complies with all visas and travel requirements before leaving his/her home country.
  • Before approving the booking confirmation sent by Senior Travel Costa Rica please verify that the booking details are correct.
  • Any changes or cancellations must be sent by writing, via e-mail. We will not accept any requests on charges that come from reservations canceled by other means.
  • In case of cancellation or modifications done after the documentation has been issued, the operator will apply the corresponding penalties and an extra fee for operation services.
  • No pets are allowed, except when it regards guiding dogs for the blind, in which case, the request should be made at the moment of booking.
  • Our packages do not guarantee the observation of flora and fauna, volcanoes or any other attraction related to Nature, since these situations are beyond human control. Nor it will be guaranteed any matter related to climate. These issues do not apply for complaints or requests for reimbursement.
  • If you have complaints regarding the hotel you are staying or the service you are receiving, please notify it to the manager of the place and to our reservation’s department immediately, in order to resolve your complaint timely. Complaints made after the enjoyment of the service will not be subject to monetary reimbursement.

    Reservation Policy

    All reservation requests will be received via our website. You will receive a confirmation of your request within 24 hours after its submission. You can send your request through our website or by writing to info@seniortravelcostarica.com

    Reservations for FIT's must be made at least 45 days prior to the arrival date. Confirmation of the services requested will be sent in a written formula, via email.

    Reservations for groups must be made at least 60 days prior to the arrival date. The application of confirmation of the services requested will be sent in an email written formula.

      

    Reservation Procedure

    After receiving the reservation request, Senior Travel Costa Rica sends the customer a notification of receipt and proceeds to confirm all services quoted previously.

    The official confirmation of the booking is sent to the customer so he can review it.

    After that, the voucher of the service will be issued by Senior Travel Costa Rica and sent to the customer. They must then present it at the different establishments that she/he will visit; mainly to the hotels.

      

    Special groups or events

    • For groups and special events, a detailed itinerary with its corresponding cancellation policies will be provided in advance.
    • Cancellation policies may vary according to group size, special conditions and the availability of the hotels included in the packages.
      

    Kids Policy

    Child rates apply for children from 3 to 11 years of age sharing room with both parents.

    Maximum occupancy per room: 2 children, 3 adults. The child rate will be 75% off the adults´ fare.

      

    Payment Policies

    Payment of the confirmed reservation must be made this way:

    • GROUPS: If arrival date of your vacation is within 60 days or less, full payment is required at time of booking. If arrival date is greater than 60 days a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance will be charged 45 days prior to arrival.
    • FIT's: If arrival date of your vacation is within 60 days or less, full payment is required at time of booking. If arrival date is greater than 60 days a 50% deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance will be charged 30 days prior to arrival.

    All reservations for Peak season (Christmas, New Year and Easter), must be paid in full 60 days before the arrival date.

    Cancellation & Change Policy

    Cancellation policies may vary according to the size of the party or group, special conditions and the availability of the hotels included in the packages.

    Cancellations will be accepted only if they have been sent via email and received by someone in the reservations department of Senior Travel Costa Rica. Our agency will not accept any voucher, coupon or list where the original name has been changed and a new name or date has been added.

    If the user decides not to travel, the amount already paid for the program will be reimbursed minus a percentage calculated over the total rate of the tourism service, as it is indicated below:

    Refunds:
    For FIT reservations

    • If the package is canceled 30 days before the arrival date, the refund will be a 100% of the total payment minus a $30 administration fee per person.
    • If the package is canceled 29 days before the arrival date, the refund will be a 50% of the total payment.
    • If the package is canceled after 22 days before the arrival date, there will be no refund.
       

    For group bookings

    • If the package is canceled 45 days before the arrival date, the refund will be a 100% of the total payment minus a $100 administration service fee.
    • If the package is canceled 44 days before arrival date, the refund will be a 50% of the total payment.
    • If the package is canceled after 39 days before the arrival date, there will be no refund.
       

    No show: If the customer does not arrive to a tour without prior cancellation (FIT'S and groups), he/she will be charged with a 100% of the contracted services.

    Changes in dates:

    For FIT’s reservation: Changes in bookings before 25 days, will be made free of charge; after 25 days, a $10 fee will be charged for every solicited change.

    For group bookings: Changes to bookings before 30 days, will be made free of charge; after 30 days, a $10 fee will be charged for every solicited change.

    Responsibility Policy

    • Senior Travel Costa Rica is liable before its customers for the complete delivery and quality of all the services described in the tour programs.
    • If facing major forces that are out of its control, Senior Travel Costa Rica will be exonerated of all liability regarding the failure or delaying to provide the services due to these causes, including without limit: forces of Nature such as hurricanes, floods and earthquakes; government orders; fire or explosions; acts of terrorism in the venue; necessary or essential constructions; detention or seizure under legal protest; civil disorders; within a 10 kilometers ratio from the places where the client is located.
    • In the event that any of the circumstances described in the preceding paragraph occur during the trip, Senior Travel Costa Rica reserves its right to make the necessary changes to the itineraries, travel dates, hotels, transport services and other services, in order to ensure the successful provision of the tourism services, always taking into account the responsibility clauses of each country and provider. If for any of these reasons, it becomes necessary to cancel all or part of a trip, the responsibility of the organizers is limited to the reimbursement to its clients of the amount of the canceled portion, minus any expenses that might have been taken place.
    • In case Senior Travel Costa Rica would be compelled to cancel the tourism services prior to its start, it will reimburse the user, within a maximum of 22 days, for the amount previously received. If the tourism services were disrupted due to a major force, the user will be reimbursed with the portion of the value corresponding to the services not enjoyed, minus any other cost that might have been taken place.
    • Senior Travel Costa Rica has the prerogative to change the itinerary or confirmed hotels and other services, for others of equal or higher category when these changes benefit the quality of the tour.
    • Senior Travel Costa Rica, its operators and agents assume no responsibility in the event that the visas required for a given trip are denied to the user, or in the case in which he/she is not allowed to enter in a given country. Costs originated due to this situation, should be paid by the user.
    • The organizers of the tourism services reserve the right to disqualify, remove or ban those who for a serious cause, duly established, either of moral or disciplinary nature, undermine its success or impede the rights, welfare, safety or enjoyment of others. Under these circumstances refunds are usually not given.
    • Senior Travel Costa Rica does not assume any liability for legal issues or other drawbacks in which a user might be involved, that force him/her to be removed from the tour, neither regarding the personal expenses in which the passenger may incur due to this situation.
    • Senior Travel Costa Rica assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage suffered by the luggage or the personal effects of the user during the trip. The luggage and other items that the users carry with them are under their custody and responsibility.
    • Senior Travel Costa Rica will be exempted of all liability, if the costumer suffers any problem regarding his/her health during the trip, and he/she did not notify the agency of any illness that he/she suffers, or the need for special medical care, at the moment of booking. The customer is obligated to inform the agency of these situations, in order to take appropriate action.

    The rates in this Agreement are subject to any new tax that is applicable and that is authorized by the Costa Rican law.

    Privacy Policy

    Senior Travel Costa Rica respects the privacy of all its customers. All personal information is confidential and for the exclusive use of Senior Travel Costa Rica. We do not provide customer information to third parties, except of course, the information needed to make bookings with other suppliers.

    Specifications to consider in some packages

    Just Monteverde Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría Intl. Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive to Costa Rica preferably during the morning, at 11 a.m. as the latest. So it is necessary to consider this at the moment of booking the air tickets.
    • This tour cannot start on Thursdays, due to operating reasons in one of the tours provided in the package. Please consider this when you book the air tickets. (The “Cheese Tour” on day 4th, does not operate on Sundays).

    Pacific Pearl Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The customer can arrive in Costa Rica during the day, but is better to arrive in the morning or early afternoon, preferably before 1 pm, so that there will be a little time left to get to know a bit of the city, and afterwards, get enough rest for the following day, which will be very busy.

    Exotic CR Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica during the morning, if possible before 10 am.

    Guanacaste Extreme Package

    • This tour cannot start on Sundays due to operating reasons in one of the tours provided. Please consider this when you book your air tickets. (Rincón de la Vieja National Park does not operate on Mondays).
    • The client must arrive at the Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica during the morning, if possible before 10 am.

    Springs & Clouds Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica in the morning or early afternoon, preferably before 1 pm.

    Caribbean Rhythm Deluxe Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica during the morning, preferably before 10 am.

    The Wild Last Frontier of CR Package

    • This package does not operate from September 15 to November 16, because the hotel Casa Corcovado is closed during this period of time.
    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica during the morning, preferably before 10 am.

    Diverse Turrialba Package

    • The client must arrive at the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José.
    • The client must arrive in Costa Rica during the morning, preferably before 10 am.
